As our world faces everything from climate change to global conflicts, tomorrow’s leaders must understand our past to build a brighter future.

This learning happens at the library.

UBC Library

The UBC Library is home to collections that support learning, research and exploration across disciplines.

Students and community members are welcomed into spaces like Walter C. Koerner Library, known for its extensive humanities and social sciences collections; Woodward Library, which houses the largest biomedical collection in Western Canada; and the Music, Art & Architecture Library, offering specialized resources in the creative fields.

Together, these libraries help equip students with the diverse perspectives they need to shape a better world.

Your gift empowers student learning by:

  • Broadening ways to learn
Such as offering online access to books, media and articles; providing research help, tools and resources, including publishing research in academic journals and creating flexible study spaces to connect and innovate.
  • Supporting preservation
Making sure manuscripts, digital archives and cultural collections are well kept and remain available for those who need them.
  • Awarding student excellence
Through prizes that recognize outstanding work and encourage emerging leaders to push boundaries across every field.
  • Securing essential resources
Including the latest research materials, collections and rare artifacts that set UBC Library apart as one of Canada’s leading research libraries.
  • Attracting expert librarians
Who will help bring deep subject knowledge to UBC students and scholars — inspiring them, their ideas and their actions for a better world.
